Support the procurement activities for all divisions and departments within the company
Exercise discretion and independent judgment for all assigned commodities and projects
Work on strategic initiatives from initial concept to completion
Initiate and analyze Request for Quotations (RFQ)
Work on special projects as assigned by management
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
Issue purchase orders and change notices
Supports continuous cross training throughout Purchasing Dept
Interact with accounts payable to settle invoice discrepancies
Lead quarterly business reviews with suppliers
Purchasing commodities with an emphasis on strategizing and implementing cost reduction activities
Maintains excellent relationships with both internal and external customers
Ensures overall adequacy, accuracy and soundness of judgment for all work performed
Requirements
2+ years of Purchasing experience
Bachelors degree is required
Experience with an ERP system
Accounts Payable experience a plus
Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to work well in a continuously changing environment
Self starter with strong pro-active initiative
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to problem solve and present solutions
